1:1 Tutoring -
Terms and Conditions
General Overview
These Terms & Conditions apply to all 1:1 tutoring sessions and private tuition services provided. By booking a session, you agree to the terms outlined below.
Bookings & Payment
One-Off Sessions

Payment must be made in advance of each session to secure the booking.

Sessions are only confirmed once payment has been received.
Regular Tutoring
-
The first session may be booked and paid for individually.
-
A free 30-minute consultation/pre-meet is available prior to starting, allowing time to discuss requirements and for the child to meet the tutor.

Ongoing sessions are typically booked as follows:
-
Weekly sessions: Paid in blocks of 4 sessions (or 5 sessions in longer months).

Non-weekly sessions (e.g. fortnightly):
-
Can be paid individually (minimum 7 days in advance to secure the slot), or
-
Booked in blocks of 2 or 4 sessions, depending on preference.

Cancellations & Rescheduling
-
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or rearrange a session.

With sufficient notice, sessions can be rescheduled or refunded.

24–48 hours’ notice:
-
A rearranged session will be offered subject to availability.
-
If a suitable alternative cannot be agreed, the session will not be refunded.

Less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance:
-
The full session fee will be charged and is non-refundable.

Safeguarding & Duty of Care
The safety and wellbeing of all children is a top priority. The tutor holds relevant training in safeguarding and child protection, including:

Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety

Child Protection Training
-
Prevent/Channel Awareness (safeguarding against radicalisation)
All sessions are delivered in line with safeguarding best practices.
Special Educational Needs & Inclusive Support
The tutor has experience and training in supporting children with additional needs, including:

Autism awareness and support

Selective mutism
-
Emotional development and social communication
-
SEN-friendly teaching approaches
Sessions are adapted to suit each child’s individual needs, learning style, and confidence level.
However, it is very important that any medical needs, learning needs, diagnoses, behavioural considerations, or adaptations required are discussed in advance so they can be appropriately considered within session planning and support.
Behaviour & Wellbeing
A positive, supportive environment is maintained at all times. The tutor is trained in:

Positive behaviour support

Managing challenging behaviour

Supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health
If a child becomes distressed or unable to engage, the session may be adapted or paused in the child’s best interest.
Health, Safety & Medical Awareness
The tutor has completed additional medical awareness training, including diabetes support training, and aims to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all children.
Parents/guardians are responsible for informing the tutor of any medical conditions, allergies, medications, or additional support needs prior to sessions beginning.
Additional Support Skills
The tutor also brings experience in:

Assistive technology for learning support

Creative tools and approaches where appropriate

Data protection awareness (GDPR compliant handling of personal information)
Parental Responsibilities
Parents/guardians are asked to:

Ensure the child is available, prepared, and ready at the agreed session time.

Provide any relevant educational information or learning goals.

Inform the tutor of any changes in circumstances, support needs, or contact details.
Agreement
By booking and attending 1:1 tutoring sessions, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
